Who we are

TraitLoadout (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the TraitLoadout website and provides The Player Profile, a personalised psychometric assessment delivered as a PDF report. We are based in Australia. You can contact us at hello@traitloadout.com.

This policy explains how we handle your personal information and applies to everyone who uses traitloadout.com or purchases The Player Profile. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

To deliver The Player Profile, we collect the following:

• Identity and contact: first name, email address, optional age.
• Assessment responses: your answers to the 36 Likert items in the questionnaire.
• Computed results: your six trait scores, your assigned archetype, the underlying response patterns.
• Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe — we do not see, store, or have access to your card or banking details.
• Technical data: basic web traffic information such as browser type, page views, and timestamps via privacy-respecting analytics.

Why we collect it

• To generate and deliver your personalised report.
• To process your payment via Stripe.
• To send you the report PDF and re-download links by email.
• To improve the assessment instrument over time, in aggregate-only form (we never use individual responses for commercial profiling).
• To respond to your support enquiries.
• To comply with our legal obligations (tax records, fraud prevention).

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the product. Each handles your data only for the specific function listed:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
• Airtable — secure storage of your assessment responses and report metadata.
• Make.com — automation between Stripe, Airtable, and email delivery.
• PDFShift — renders your personalised report HTML into a PDF.
• Resend — email delivery service for sending you your report.
• Cloudflare — web hosting, DNS, and basic traffic analytics.

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertising networks, or use it for marketing without your explicit opt-in.

International transfers

Some of the third-party services above operate servers outside Australia (primarily in the United States and European Union). By using TraitLoadout, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions. Each provider is contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with their own privacy commitments and applicable data-protection laws.

How long we keep it

• Assessment responses and report data: retained for as long as you may want to re-download your report. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your rights” below).
• Payment records: retained for 7 years to comply with Australian tax law.
• Email correspondence: retained for up to 2 years for support reference, then deleted.
• Aggregate, de-identified analytics: kept indefinitely. Once data is fully de-identified it is no longer personal information under the Privacy Act.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.
• Withdraw consent for any optional data uses at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe your rights have been violated.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR or CCPA. Contact us if you would like to exercise any of these rights — we’ll respond within 30 days.

Cookies and tracking

TraitLoadout uses the minimum cookies and storage necessary to operate the product. Specifically:

• A small amount of browser localStorage on your device to remember your assessment responses and pre-fill the thank-you page after payment. This data lives only on your device.
• Cloudflare may set technical cookies for security (bot protection) and basic traffic analysis.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or social-media tracking beacons.

Children

TraitLoadout is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. All data is transmitted over TLS-encrypted connections, stored on reputable cloud-infrastructure providers, and access is restricted to those who need it to operate the service.

No system is perfect. If we ever discover a data breach that could affect you, we will notify you and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be notified via email to existing customers and announced on traitloadout.com.
